Truth in action

OLD & NEW. Apologies for being MIA. I've had a lot on my mind and a lot on my plate.  It's only the first week of school and I've never been so busy in my life.  All in the hopes of keeping my mind constantly preoccupied.
Tomorrow I am shooting a fashion video for a new online series in conjunction with Alloy media and Fuze.  Definitely exciting, definitely nerve-wracking.  How I managed to squeeze this in between classes is beyond me.  Stay posted!

P.S. More apologies for those who have emailed me. Promise I will get back to you asap.

The flowers and the fields

h&m hat, forever 21 blazer, UO tank, zara shorts and booties, DIY feather earring

Sometime last week Tran and I made a day trip down to San Diego and along the way stumbled across the land of milk and honey.  Or in this case, a field of flowers.  How can I resist?
For the past couple of visits I've made down, it has yet to grace me with some sun.  This trip was like every other recent trip, gloomy and really really cold.  I really don't know why I never wear pants.  Peeking out the bedroom window does not serve as a proper weather forecaster.  On the bright side, I recently picked up a slew of colored tops + blouses , or at least subtle colors, but colors nonetheless to cure my neutral colored woes. Yay!

+ It's been some time since something's dangled or glazed my ear.  I came across this feathered earring that I had made from this past halloween and thought, why not.

Skateboard P

uo silk button-up, thrifted dress, ariat boots

St.Patrick's. Tradition beckons for the color green to be worn on this day.  And by tradition I mean I don't want to be pinched.  The first time I had worn this shirt was with a pair of brown riding boots, but after a friend made a reference to Peter Pan, well, it hasn't seen daylight since. Kicking back over sweet sweet spring break; the absolute joy of doing nothing with nothing on your mind.  Spent the afternoon coasting up and down the block in the most breeziest and comforting of get-ups. For some reason, this dress screams SoCal beach vibes.  From its ever-laid-back feeling to the blend of cotton and meshy fabric that travels down the side of the dress. It's official, I wear too much black.  Clearly ready for spring's trend-setting colors. haha.  Although, I did pull out my bright yellow flats from the deepest darkest part of my closet some weeks ago. That's a start right? :)

Wanting, craving, wishing, and hoping

via i love wildfox, stolen inspiration, tumblr, me, we hear it, un deux senses, flikr,

This has to be one of the most random set of photos you'll probably encounter, but I don't care. Causeeee. I'm. Done. With. Finals. Hallelujah!  Been living in messy unkept buns, sweats + tees galore, and gorging on everything within a hands reach these past couple of weeks, oh gawd. Hence the lack of outfit posts :(

Lately, wanting that lilac dress and to tie-dye my hair (who's with me? :) ).  Craving pancakes, and wishing to...just relax.  Green-eyed of all those spring-breakers making way to different parts of the world, but it's ok,  I'm hoping to be making my own adventure this coming fall to... the last photo! Yeee!

edit: oh and after having an account for two years on twitter, I think I'm finally going to use it. haha Any tips and tricks?  I am still trying to figure out how to navigate myself around.. :/  twit? tweet? at me!

L.A. Art Walk

Hipsters unite.  Tid bits from tonight's downtown adventure.  Taking a breather from my studies to bask in the creativity and talent of Los Angelians.  Gracing this city is life full of absolute culture and diversity and tonight it came alive.  As much as I love editorials and spreads, I mainly look to the streets when it comes to style.  There's just something so raw and honest about personal taste and it definitely says a lot about who you are. Basically, the night was overflowing with personality I almost drowned (there were seriously a lot of people).  The bf and I along with some friends indulged in the best collaboration in the world of all that is good in life: the tornado sausage.  Absolute heaven hugged by a thinly sliced potato spiral deep-fried to a T.  So good my heart skipped a beat.
Also booth after booth of hand-crafted jewelry was much to overwhelming for me to take in all at once. I came across rings + neclaces made completely from LEGO (a-m-a-z-i-n-g), utensils, cattle labels (yes, actual cow tags), old hotel keys, stone-encrusted bullets, and on my next wish list, a wolf/canine-like tooth.  Oh and that detailed flower engraved leather clutch! I regret not coming home with it.  :(

Indeed, a much needed night.  Can't wait for next month.  If you're ever in the area, this happens on the second Thursday of every month.  Be sure to check out the art galleries that open up their work for the night, food trucks lined across parking lots, musical performances, and everything else in between.  It's too good to pass up (like that clutch) and then you'll regret it (like I did). Sigh.

Easy Breezy

zara knit, uo tank, DIY snug tight thrifted leather shorts, nine west boots

Two weeks till spring break.  Fourteen weeks till graduation.  This is too surreal.  Not ready to be an adult just yet.  Need to savor every moment of my undergrad.  For the time being, this savoring will consist of countless nights falling asleep with my readings, writing papers, and walking around campus like a zombie. Eek, a presentation tomorrow and two finals next week. Someone push fast forward on the life button for the next two weeks then pause it forever. haha

Oh and I loove how these shorts came out.  They now fit snug like a bug in a rug.  Made for a quick photo in front of Alan's work before being cooped up in an office for the next five hours.

+ the very sweet Aude from The Little World of Fashion featured me for her "Five for Five" interview.
